Financial Controller/Accounting Manager (Full-Time)

We are seeking a Full-Time Controller/Accounting Manager to proactively lead the accounting functions of our client in educational business and provide operational support. You will also be expected to provide leadership and input into the improvement of operational processes and controls. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounting functions - day to day processing of transactions and updating accounting records, monitoring bank accounts, completing monthly reconciliations, managing financial reporting, accounts receivables and payroll functions

  • Financial statements - prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Assemble information for and liaise with external auditors

  • Cash flow analysis and budgeting - prepare short and long-term cash flow analysis, annual budgets and other adhoc financial analysis as required

  • Executive support - assist with preparation of monthly reports including summary financial information, trend and variance analysis and summarize key performance indicators

  • Manage the ERP systems and processes associated with the sales cycle.

  • Manage key third party relationships – main point of contact with the CRA, insurance providers, landlords etc.

  • Operational improvement – continually review the organization’s processes and procedures and provide input and guidance on optimizing operational functions

  • General executive support - perform other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Accounting designation CPA 

  • Minimum  two years of management experience within a mid sized organization or public accounting handling small to mid sized business clients

  • Working knowledge of IFRS

  • Self-starter and the ability to work autonomously

  • Willingness to be “hands on” and help out to get the job done

  • Professional, trustworthy and operate with a high degree of integrity

  • Experience with QuickBooks an asset
